Hair

I have pretty long, fine hair which is split end central in dire need of a cut, but before I head to the hairdressers I have been scouting out photographs of styles I like and thought I'd post a few of my favourites here:

Well who doesn't want Kate Middleton's hair? So glossy, thick and beautiful! The lucky lady has the help of Richard Ward who keeps her hair looking fabulous.

I love Katy's thick, heavy fringe here. I'm debating whether or not to get a fringe put in my hair, I think I would have to cut in quite a thick fringe as dark hair tends to show up grease easily and I don't fancy walking around with a greasy, wispy fringe! Blergh!

Lauren Conrad gives me major hair envy, her blonde waves are just so beautiful and well looked after. She has recently dyed the tips of her hair peach which really suits her.

I can never keep track of Nicole Richie's hairstyles, she definitely likes to mix it up going from long to short, light to dark, fringe or no fringe. Nevertheless, her hair always look amazing and I especially love her fringe in this pic.

All pics from Google

I'm very envious of Reese's blonde hair, it always looks in fantastic condition! I like her fringe in this picture however I think it would be too much on the wispy side for me.

Would love to hear who everyones hair idol is or what hairstyle is your favourite from the above pictures. Leave me a comment below and let me know your thoughts.

P.s This is my 100th post (yay!) a massive thank you to all my followers both on here and Twitter, your support means so much, thank you! x

Mac Shale

Mac Shale £11.50, Mac Counter

I am always more than happy to add a new Mac shadow to my ever growing collection, my latest purchase is  Shale, described as a Mauve-plum with subtle shimmer. In general I really struggle choosing shadows from Mac mainly due to my indecisive personality, coupled with Mac's overwhelming choice of colours (I just want them all!) but I decided to purchase this shade after seeing it featured in a (fab!) Pixiwoo tutorial...err who doesn't want to look like Kate Middy?!

I had been on the hunt for a purple-plum shadow for quite some time and Shale couldn't be more perfect. The purple is a lovely subtle shade that looks great on green eyes without being too purple. I guess the best way to describe this colour would be bruised - perhaps not the best description but it really is a beautiful shade and makes a great soft, daytime look but can also be paired with smudgy blacks and greys for an evening smokey eye.

I like shale as it suits my colouring (super pale) and the purple/plum tones make it an ideal eyeshadow for Autumn. Whilst Mac says it has a subtly shimmer I never noticed that this eyeshadow was remotely shimmery, from the photo of the swatch below you can see that it catches the light ever so slightly, which I think is really gorgeous!

Freshly Painted - Bourjois Ultra Shine Nail Enamel in Rose Lounge

Bourjois So Laque Ultra Shine Nail Enamel in Rose Lounge £5.99

Hello, I am one of those exceptionally sad people who purchased this mainly because it was included in Kate Middleton's wedding day manicure - along with Essie Allure. In my defence I was inspired by Kate's nude polish, and on the day of the wedding (thinking I had a similar colour available) I went to paint my nails only to find that I must have imagined owning a similar shade as I had no standard french manicure colour in my collection. So, on my next Superdrug run I had a 'sod it' moment and decided to purchase the Bourjois shade. Incidentally, I notice Bourjois are now cashing in on this royal connection and both the website and Bourjois stands are advertising Rose Lounge as Kate's nail polish of choice, even more interestingly when I visited Boots today this shade was completely sold out..... maybe it was good idea to get my hands on it early.

The shade is lovely, it's a very classic pale pink/french manicure colour, perfect for giving a put together, polished look, to me this is a staple nail polish colour and a safe option. I can't be certain as I know Bourjois have revamped their So Laque range but I think I owned this shade, or a very similar one, a few years ago. The formula is the same as I remember and whilst the polish gives a lovely shiny finish it is quite gloopy and seems to take an absolute age to dry properly....needless to say there were smudges!!

Royal Wedding

I told myself I only wanted to watch for the dress but I ended up being completely glued to the royal wedding coverage. Everyone was dying to see the dress and Kate's Alexander McQueen choice did not disappoint, she looked radiant and beautiful. The Grace Kelly-esque dress was a perfect choice for her, I loved her lace sleeves and simple veil, combined with the Cartier tiara she really did look like a Princess!
