Nars Albatross

Not sure why I decided to swatch it twice?!

I am a total highlighter freak, so it was only a matter of time 'til I purchased the much loved Albatross by Nars.

Being attracted to all things shiny, I literally ripped the packaging off this product to reveal the white shimmery goodness. In the pan the powder looks pure white and quite chalky, however when applied to the skin it transforms into a champagne gold, almost pale yellow glow. This highlighter feels high quality, there is no fall out and the powder transfers seamlessly to the skin. What I was most impressed with is how it gives a sheen to the skin, rather than a shimmer and there is definitely no chunky glitter!

Being a Nars product this is at the more expensive end of the make up scale, costing £21.00, however a little bit of this product goes a long way so I can see this lasting a really long time....unless I decide to drop the pan and shatter the powder everywhere, which knowing me is a possibility!

I do tend to neglect this highlight somewhat as I've come to favour cream highlighters, however for any highlighter freaks out there, Albatross is superb.

Freshly Painted: Revlon Midnight Affair

Revlon Nail Enamel in Midnight Affair

I chose Midnight Affair by Revlon for my first Freshly Painted in a while, the colour is a dark, inky blue, although the flash in my photo above picks up on the shimmer in the polish. In reality the colour is nowhere near as vibrant and only looks shimmery in the bottle, when on the nails it's very dark - similar to the colour seen on my index finger above.

As with most Revlon polishes I've tried the formula is thin and easy to work with. I'm not sure if this colour is still available or whether it was limited edition, but the navy makes a nice change to the summer brights I've been wearing for the last few months.

Lush Twilight Bath Bomb

Twilight Bath Bomb, £3.20, Lush

In bath

This is one of Lush's staple bath bomb, I always see it everytime I'm in the store. In case you haven't seen it, it's the big pink one, well when I say big what I actually mean is huge - this one is a whopper! The bath bomb has a moon and stars pattern on the top, however this isn't really visible in my shoddy iphone photo above - currently attempting to be a blogger with no camera (mine broke). UPDATE: I found a better photo I took before my camera died, where you can actually see the pattern.

After running the water, I plopped this one in the bath and as with all Lush bath bombs I've tried it instantly fizzed up revealing a bright pink colour followed by a blue. The in bath photo above is actually from the Lush website and I have to say my bath bomb didn't really look like that, I had nowhere near that much foam and the colours were not as vibrant.

When the pink and blue had mixed the water turned purple - the colour of twilight, I was starting to feel slightly disappointed - I've spoken on here before about how I expect a bath bomb to have a bit of drama,  then I noticed that the bath was full of bluey/silver glitter which made the water look so pretty. I came out of the bath covered in sparkles and a few days later I was still finding them on my face, nevertheless I loved using this bath bomb, it's especially great to use before bedtime as it contains lavender oil to aide a good night's sleep. Definitely one to try out!

Christmas Wish List Shopping

With all the shops currently displaying their Christmas gifts and seasonal collections emerging left, right and centre I have plenty of things on my wish list right now, here are just a few things I am lusting over:

Too Faced Romantic Eye Kit, £26.00, Boots

Too Faced is a brand who's name I always here banded about, but I have never really taken the time to look into their products. During a recent bit of online window shopping this palette caught my eye, I think the mix of colours is beautiful and it's definitely going to feature on my Christmas list this year. Get it here.

Clinique Whole Lotta Colour Gift set, £30.00, John Lewis

How cute is this collection of five mini Clinique Chubby Sticks, I really struggle to pick lip colours so having this set would be ideal. The colours included are Richer Raisin, Bulky Blossom, Chunky Cherry, Oversized Orange and Super Strawberry, I also love the hot pink box they come in (because packaging matters ok!). Get it here.

Popcorn Lip Scrub, £5.25, Lush

How amazing does popcorn lip scrub sound? Yes it's kind of overpriced for what it is, but I don't care, I want it! Get it here.

Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Soufflé Body Crème, £43.50, John Lewis

This sounds good enough to eat, almond and coconut milk - yum! There are rave reviews of this on the John Lewis website but ultimately for me this is super expensive for a body moisturiser, especially as I'm a bit of an infrequent moisturiser-er as it is. I don't doubt that this product would be gorgeous to use, maybe it's one to save up for? Get it here.

Balenciaga Paris Eau de Parfum 50ml, £59.00, House of Fraser

I swear I read that this perfume was being discontinued, but it still seems to be readily available in House of Fraser and Debenhams. Anyway, it is in my opinion a gorgeous scent that I cover myself in every time I enter a perfume department, it's really getting to the point where I just need to take the plunge and buy it! I don't think this perfume would be to everyones taste, it smells like Parma Violets and is a very feminine, high quality fragrance. Get it here.

Well that is my current round up of products, I'm sure next week I'll be eyeing up even more products. Please feel free to share below what you will be putting on your Christmas list this year.
